Datuk Wilfred Bumburing Library

A resource centre or library is an essential component of any school in Sabah that has a long history. At SM All Saints, the development of its premier resource centre began in 1992 with groundbreaking ceremony of the Wisma All Saints Building. Upon completion of the building three (3) years later, the All Saints School's resource centre was established at the 4th Level of the Wisma All Saints Building and renamed the Datuk Wilfred M Bumburing Library in honour of YB Datuk Wilfred M Bumburing

The Datuk Wilfred M Bumburing Library i.e. SM All Saints' resource unit was established with the aim of making ready the neccessary teaching and learning for whole community of the school. Its objectives are

  • to act as a information presenter channel that fulfills the National Education Policy that is easy,
  • to prepare printed and electronic reading materials that are apporpriate current development,
  • Senantiasa menambah bilangan dan koleksi dengan mengenalpasti kualiti dan kesempurnaan ruang lingkupnya.
  • Menyediakan segala kemudahan kepada guru-guru supaya dapat mengembangkan dan menyebar luas ilmu secara mendalam dan berkesan.
  • Memastikan penggunaan pusat sumber secara secara maksimum tetapi terancang dan terkawal dan mengamalkan nilai-nilai disiplin secara berhemah.
  • Melaksanakan dan menganjurkan aktiviti, program dan kursus secara berkala kepada semua warga SM All Saints atas dasar penggunaan dan pengurusan terpilih.

In 2012, under the 2012 School Library-Index Quality Management Rating Status, Datuk Wilfred M Bumburing Library was awarded the 5-Star. The following year, 2013, SM All Saints received an award in a State Level competition under the category of Pre-State Kota Kinabalu. It was said to be on par with the standards of a State-Level Library.

To date, the Datuk Wilfred M Bumburing Library houses 25,000 books of various topics. It has two (2) Bilik Tayangan or Film Halls with a classroom style seating capacity of 40 and 30 respectively. The Library also has three (3) computer terminals for use. The operating hours are as follows;

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00AM to 4:00PM
  • Friday: 8:00AM to 11:30AM and 1:30PM to 4:00PM
  • Saturday: 8:00AM to 12:00PM
  • Sunday and Public Holidays: Closed
